Before Buying a Hot Tub HEADING_TITLE

Preparing the Perfect Site
Most hot tubs are meant to be installed outside. If you wish to put a hot tub inside, keep in mind that water is very heavy; a filled tub can weigh up to 3,000 pounds! Indoor tubs need solid support underneath and proper ventilation; steam can damage paint, wood and more. You must consult a licensed building contractor if you're considering indoor installation.
When installing a hot tub outside, it needs to sit on a firm foundation. Try to get the surface as level as possible by removing any sod, soft dirt or weeds. Construct a foundation using pea gravel, concrete stepping stones, or pressure-treated wood. You can also pour a concrete slab, which will provide a safe and solid foundation, but it's a little more costly. Also, make sure you leave enough room around the perimeter of the tub. You'll be glad you did this when you need to access the side panels for maintenance.

Make Way for Delivery
Hot tubs are large and awkward, weighing as much as 690 pounds unfilled. Make sure you know the measurements of the tub you ordered, which are listed on our item pages (protective packaging will add a few inches). You're going to need help getting the tub from your curbside or driveway to your backyard or patio. We suggest renting a large furniture dolly and wheeling your hot tub to its final location. After you order a hot tub from Enjoy Being, here are some things to remember about our convenient curbside delivery:
Hot tubs are shipped via a freight company and will arrive at your curbside within 7 business days after leaving our warehouse.
The freight company will contact you in advance to schedule a delivery date and time.
You're going to need help available upon arrival. The freight company is only responsible for unloading this item and bringing it to your driveway or garage. The delivery people will not install it, bring it to your backyard or anywhere else.
Hot tubs cannot be shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. protectorates and territories, or APO/FPO addresses.

It's Not Plug-and-Play
Most hot tubs require a 240-volt electrical connection. This is the same type of connection that's used for very large appliances, like an electric washer or dryer. This also means that you can't just plug it in and take a dip. You must have your hot tub installed by a state-certified electrician to ensure the best-possible connection. Check your local phone book for qualified electricians and contractors.

Before You Take the Plunge
Once you have your hot tub properly installed, it's time for your first fill-up. Your hot tub will take up to 7 hours to fully heat, depending on the size. Be sure to read your owner's manual for the proper procedure. Here are some tips to consider:
Turn off the electrical power to the hot tub before filling up.
Clean the interior with mild, non-abrasive cleaning solution, then rinse.
Be sure to open the air valves.
Make sure the drain is closed.
Fill the hot tub with a garden hose to the level specified in your owner's manual.
